Now a Bostonian, Ingrid was born and raised in Missouri where people say she was born singing. Though her passion for song was ignited at a mere 3-years-old, the 26-year-old’s loves remain the same: music, beautiful sounds and undeniable technique.

With an extensive classical background, along with her pop and R&B experience, she is able to apply many techniques to all styles of music.

Ingrid quickly achieved acclaim as an opera and R&B singer and started winning contests and honors at a young age. She was selected as 1998 Female Vocalist of the Year at Southwest Missouri State University at age 15. In the next few years she was a member of the Missouri All-State Choir and a featured soloist for the Springfield Symphony. Starting at the age of 18, Gerdes was honored as University of Kansas’ Best Actress in Rock Chalk Review in 2001 and 2002 for her singing and acting abilities

After moving to Boston in 2002, she promptly was recognized at the prestigious music school Berklee College for her vocal talents. She was chosen as a soloist for the prestigious Berklee Singers Night twice. She then began performing with local bands. She has recently been featured in WBZ’s A-List Local Performers and awarded with many more honors. Ingrid is now the lead female singer for the Boston Players Band and a private vocal instructor for Page Music Lesson Center.

Ingrid releases her original debut album, The Eclectic Collection, in January 2008. The album mixes blues, soul, Motown, R&B, reggae, classical and pop—into one unique compilation. With original pieces, both personally written and produced, this album epitomizes her appreciation and passion for honest music.

I find out that one musician becomes their favorite simply because of music type, their personality reflects to them, popular, new style, talents on how they play their instruments.

It’s fun and enjoy to find favorite musician, and one that I really love and be my favorite is simple plan. Simple plan started when I was fourth year high school and have successful albums until now. My best friend and I plan to find new musician of the year and we notice that most of the music now gets crazy.
